Near the end of the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXII, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida and Square Enix General Manager of Community & Service Division Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi shared the 7.0 FFXIV Dawntrail patch schedule. Things actually kick off on June 28, 2024, to prepare for the new patch and expansion’s early access phase.
Here’s the full timeline for the FFXIV Dawntrail schedule for the 7.0 series of initial patches. Note that there will be a 48 hour maintenance before all of this kicks off.
- June 26, 2024: 48-hour maintenance should begin.
- June 27, 2024 at 3am PT/6am ET/12pm CET: Yoshida, Foxclon, and Krile voice actress Yoshino Nanjo will hold a 7.0 patch notes reading. (Japanese audio only.)
- June 28, 2024: Patch 7.0 and FFXIV Dawntrail early access launches.
- July 7, 2024: FFXIV Dawntrail is available for everyone.
- July 16, 2024: Patch 7.01 debuts.
- July 30, 2024: Patch 7.05 debuts.
Earlier in the update, Yoshida and Foxclon went over what people can expect from some of the follow-up patches. For example, the first Raid in The Arcadion series will show up in 7.01. The Cenote Ja Ja Gural Treasure Dungeon, new Master Recipes and crafted gear, Allagan Tomestones of Heliometry, and the Savage version of the first The Arcadion Raid will appear in 7.05.
Yoshida also discussed the 7.0 patch file sizes for different platforms. Here’s how much space people can expect it to take:
- PC: About 55GB for the patch, and around 90GB if you include the base game.
- PS4: Around 80GB.
- PS5: About 75GB, as Yoshida noted it is “compressed a bit more.”
- Xbox Series X: Around 100GB, due to the overwriting required.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion will arrive on July 2, 2024.
