There are really only a handful of dedicated Attack role, DPS characters in Zenless Zone Zero at launch, so people who manage to pull Nekomata will likely want to do their best to build her up. Since we’re in the early days of the ongoing game, there aren’t too many options for her yet, making her an easy project.
Best W-Engines for a Nekomata build in Zenless Zone Zero
Since there are so few W-Engine options in Zenless Zone Zero at launch and Nekomata can only use Attack ones, it makes it easy to pick out the best ones for your build for her. Basically, there’s her ideal S-rank one created with her in mind, and the one you’ll probably have at least one of from all the standard banner pulls you get.
- Best: Steel Cushion
This is the S-Rank W-Engine designed for Nekomata. In addition to the great attack, it nets her a Crit Rate bonus that is just what an on-field DPS needs. You also get an, at minimum, 20% boost to Physical damage, which is only good for her, and a minimum 25% boost to damage for back attacks. Given Nekomata’s speed and moveset, you’ll probably strike from behind more often than you’d think.
- Totally Fine Substitute: Starlight Engine
I feel like this is the easiest-to-get and most-useful of the A-rank W-Engines so far. You get both the base attack and attack boost from its stats. You also get a temporary minimum 12% attack boost that lasts a few seconds whenever she uses a Dodge Counter or Quick Assist attack. Given her speed, that will happen a lot. And since you want her on the field constantly, she’ll rack up those Quick Assists.
Best Drive Disc Sets for Nekomata
When picking out Disk Drives for Nekomata in Zenless Zone Zero, you want to build around things like Physical damage boosts, Crit rate and damage boosts, and even just general attack increases. From my tests, I found I like Woodpecker Electro best. If you have two of them equipped, then Nekomata gets an 8% bonus to her critical hit rate. Given her Steel Cushion W-Engine also offers a Crit boost, that helps a lot. If you have all four pieces of the set, then she gets a 9% attack buff for about six seconds after she lands a critical hit after a Basic Attack, Dodge Counter, or EX Special. I found it really helpful!
Zenless Zone Zero is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and Nekomata is always available as an S-Rank Agent via the Star-Studded and limited banners.
