The Japanese version of Shining Nikki will begin its second collaboration event with Sanrio on November 29, 2023, and last until December 10, 2023. This time, Kuromi and Pompompurin are featured for a “Teatime with Sanrio Characters” limited gacha event.
The design concept for the Pompompurin outfit highlights the characters’ whipped cream and pudding motifs. The flowing, laid-back hairstyle and the sheer top layer in the dress call back to Pompompurin’s gentle personality. The fluffy winter coat is knit with milk-white yarn, with bright yellow pom-poms accentuating the piece. Many of the accessories, including the necklace, socks, and shoes of the outfit, have Pompompurin’s face printed on them.
The Wonderful Kuromi set is a punk lolita ensemble. The statement piece is a midnight black lace parasol with faux fur stitched to the hem. Unlike its gentle counterpart, the hairstyle opts for a bolder style – a straight, silver hair with a half twin-tail arrangement and purple highlights. The dress has included belts to give it a more rough edge, and Kuromi’s skull motif can be seen interchanged with silver embellishments.
Both outfits come with their own specialized set of makeup, as well as a set of ear headpieces mirroring each of their respective mascots. The Pompompurin headpiece includes a caramel brown beret, while the Kuromi band includes the pink skull symbol found on her head.
